Look 10 Years Younger With Extreme Makeover Formula

We spoke with Dr Craig Leshinger, DMD PC, the Long Island Cosmetic Dentist about the best way to look ten years younger. He says that the show, Extreme Makeover, understands the issues really well. In this brief snippet, Dr. Craig talks about who could benefit from cosmetic dentistry on Long Island, and why you should get your teeth done first…

Look 10 Years Younger With Extreme Makeover Formula

10 years youngerI think were talking to men and women.

In the Extreme Makeover show they started out to make people look younger with a plastic surgeon first, then the beauty parlor for their hair, and then the makeup people, and the last one was “oh we better add the dentist in for their smile”.

After two people on the show, they realized that one of them couldn’t have their teeth fixed… and now they had this lady that had all this surgery, but when she smiled she still had really ugly teeth so she really did not come across as that perfect redone person.

So they started to figure out that the way it should always work is to start with the teeth.  The person has to go to the dentist first because if you can’t fix their teeth you’re really not going to get the total package to be redone perfectly.

So teeth were always first and they realized by just doing your teeth can take off 10 years from your looks compared to just doing surgery on your face.  So if you had had a young looking face and when you smiled and still had 70 year old teeth, you’re really just missing the point of why you were on the show.  So it was dentist first, cosmetic surgeon next, then beautician and the makeup artists.

So I think 10 years younger is going to relate to the ladies that want to look younger and to men that want to look younger.

Men want to look younger now and I don’t want to say just for vanity but I think everyone is a little vain and we all don’t want to get older.

Even in the job market, if you want to keep your job and you’re in a young man’s game you don’t want to look older you need to have a young looking smile.

We’re also talking about people on TV and TV personalities.  Everyone gets their teeth redone.  Really, it’s weird, if you look, every celebrity has their teeth redone.  What does this say?  That no one has nice teeth that makes it to TV?  No, they do have nice teeth, but not white enough for the fashion world or the movie star world.  I think it’s really important that teeth be done and done first.

It’s a lot easier to sit in a dental chair for 2 visits and maybe spend 2 hours and you’re done with a new smile that takes 10 years off your life, than go to a plastic surgeon and have surgery.  You’re swollen for a month and look like hell to see if you can get rid of your wrinkles.  You might just be happy in fixing your teeth and you may not have to go down that route.
